About Us

For a century The McEntee name has been synonymous with New Zealand building and construction industry. McEntee Hire as it is today has its early origins as a transport company, carting milk and logs out of the Hunua region in the early 1900's. Taking advantage of increased building in the Papakura District 'McEntee's' became a construction company and by the early 1940's was concentrating on building joinery and hiring their surplus equipment to locals. This sideline business eventually became dominant as equipment levels rose and since Bill McEntee and Wife Diane took over the family business in 1978 they have never looked back.

McEntee Hire now employs almost 300 people throughout 37 business units across the North Island.

Today McEntee Hire Service Ltd remains a 100% New Zealand owned and operated family business.
